CloudDocs
packages
The Weebly Cloud platform uses packages to determine what a site does and does not have access to do. Weebly Cloud admin allows you to create as many packages as you like. When creating a package you select a Weebly plan (ex. Starter, Pro, Business) and an optional page limit.
Assigning a package to a site
Packages aren't useful until they are assigned to a site. This is done through the Package::add call in the Weebly Cloud api. A site can have unlimited packages assigned to it. If a user attempts to access a premium feature (ex. site search), then the Weebly Cloud platform checks if any of the packages assigned to that site are built on a plan that offer that premium feature. If the site does not have a package granting access to the premium feature an upgrade window is opened. Learn more about upgrades.
Default package
Every site must have at least one package assigned to it at all times. When creating a site through the Site::create call a parameter of package_id can be provided. If one is not, then your default package will be assigned to that site. The default package is set in Weebly Cloud admin.
Deleting packages
Weebly Cloud Admin allows you to create, update and delete packages. Deleting a package in Cloud Admin makes that package unavailable for future assignment to a site. If a package is deleted and was previously assigned to a site, then it will remain assigned to that site.
